The state of Texas has certain statute of limitations that put a time limit on seeking any legal recovery that results from a wrongful action. Once beyond this legally established time limit, the client will no longer be able to seek damages. Please note that some employment contracts will change the time limit for seeking any damages. Many employment contracts will shorten the statute of limitations.
Texas currently places the following constraints:
- 1-year limitation for Slander, Libel and Defamation
- 2-year limitation for Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Product Liability and Injury to Personal Property
- 4-year limitation for Fraud
